whatever DA was before I arrived I can assure you that it is no longer a community.

It's members might be community minded but those who work for DA and more importantly, those who run DA have nothing of the original spirit of ART or DEVIANCE left.

There are many reasons why this would / could / has happened - I am not here to debate them.

A classic slogan is 'vote with your wallet' so I am doing that.

DA will not die straight away - and if its Directors are clever it will not die at all. It will evolve, change, merge with other sites / providers and survive - but survive as something very different from the site we know today.

Who knows, maybe i'll be wrong and it will survive as is regardless. Even so - I can no longer give my money to this company. The service is no longer worth the cost.

I look at Myspace, Youtube, all goggle's tools etc...
These sites and many like them are TRULY based in members and member created content. They don't lie to their users, they don't hold double standards and insane amounts of micromanagement.

They leave their community be and enjoy the profits of their advertising. I would hope that DA does the same.

Banning of members has to stop. Micromanagement has to stop. Insanely detailed policy on etiquette / objectionable material and many other things has to stop.

I will leave my favourite photos and my blogs as a legacy to my time here. People do not notice an empty page. But they will see this and realise that my page, however humble - will not be updated again.
